The sheet shows a few broad colour washes laid over a pale field. Untitled L. L233; G. 820 keeps the painted areas separate, with gaps of bare paper showing through. Sam Francis uses open washes and thin layers in his abstract work.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fixed to the back that fits onto a single nail or screw. The flat paper keeps the colour edges clear and the unpainted spaces stay open.

In a bedroom it reads from the foot of the bed as soft bands of colour. From the bedside table the thin wash marks and the gaps between them show the hand of the artist.
