Untitled Lens Painting 2007

Untitled Lens Painting 2007 by Sigmar Polke shows a hazy field of colour with small dots and uneven spots across the sheet. The picture feels fractured, as if the surface has been pushed and pulled. Sigmar Polke often worked with printed patterns, mottled colour and rough dots in his late paintings.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang. A metal hanger is fitted to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame is needed.

It works on a hallway wall where the light falls unevenly. From the landing you see the mottled patches as a whole. Step closer and the small dots and uneven marks come into view.
