About this work
Untitled Triptych 1961 by Taro Yamamoto breaks the surface into three stacked sections. Each panel uses a different tone of the same hue. The marks stay close together, so the eye moves across the whole piece and stops at the edges. The work leaves most of the paper blank.
This fine art print uses a matte paper that keeps the paint tones soft and dull under a lamp. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. Each finish gives the picture a clear edge on the wall and keeps the three panels in one line.
It fits a hallway wall where footsteps slow down. You notice the shift in tone from one panel to the next as you pass by. The frame finish changes how the image sits against the paint on the wall.
