Untitled Yellow — Fine Art

Untitled Yellow shows a bright yellow field with loose colour spreads set across it. The paint sits in open bands that move from one side to the other. Sam Francis often uses wet washes on paper to let the pigment run and settle where it wants.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A white frame edge keeps the yellow area clear and sharp, while a dark wood frame gives the paint a heavier border against the light.

In a kitchen with afternoon light on the wall, the yellow washes read warm against the tiles. You see the thin edges of the paint and the way the colour thins at the sides.
