Usuyuki Ulae 227 — Fine Art

The bold marks in Usuyuki Ulae 227 sit on a flat ground and read clearly from the far end of the room. The painted surfaces hold their tone at a distance and show small shifts when you move closer. Jasper Johns built the image with paint on a board, a method that gives the picture steady weight.

This fine art print is set in a frame with a back panel. The matte surface holds the greys and the painted layers without shine. The frame keeps the edges clean, so the image sits straight on the wall without extra support.

It fits a study room behind a low desk. From the chair you see the broad form across the room, and the small painted edges appear when you stand near the desk.
