Val DAosta, Purtud by John Singer Sargent — Fine Art

Val DAosta, Purtud shows a valley road winding uphill through a narrow pass. A few buildings sit along the path. The scene holds cool air and pale ground against darker tree shapes.

John Singer Sargent often painted this kind of road study in watercolour. This fine art print keeps the open sky and plain road clear. The white frame gives the picture a clean edge.

A flat painted finish keeps the picture readable. It sits well on a kitchen wall over a counter. From the table you notice the pale road and the upright trees against the mountain slope.
