Vertigo — Fine Art

Gunther Forg painted Vertigo - 1988 with a few thin bands of paint crossing the sheet. The bands drop toward the lower edge, and the rest of the sheet stays open. The eye goes first to the busy lower section, then drifts up over the quiet area.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. A black frame sets a firm border around these thin paint bands. The black edge keeps the pale ground from washing out on the wall, and the bands stay separate from the wall rather than running into it.

You can hang it in a stairwell where the steps throw a soft shadow on the lower band. From the landing you notice the drop of the bands first, and the quiet top of the sheet holds back while you walk past.
