View of the Emme — Fine Art

The title View of the Emme - 1971 points to a river scene. Wide water fills the lower half, with a pale bank along the top edge.

The eye enters at the water line and rests on the open stretch. A fine art print keeps the cool blue and grey tones steady on the paper.

A dark wall by the stairs holds the picture at shoulder height. Morning light from the stairwell lands on the water and the bank stays matte. You read the river first, then the empty space above it.
