Voodoo — Fine Art

Voodoo - 1984 by Gene Davis uses painted colour bands that run side to side. The stripes keep one steady hue across the sheet. The eye moves along the bands and stops when the tone changes. This fine art print copies the step pattern of the original.

The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A white frame leaves the bands open, while a black frame gives the edge a firm line. The frame sets the picture against the wall with a clear border.

A narrow hallway gets a pale band of daylight on the plaster. From the front door the stripes fill the space and the frame stays low. You notice the colour shift near the corner as you pass by.
