About this work
Wheat and Wormwood 1922 shows two plants close together against a pale ground, their stems drawn with light pencil pressure and small ink marks. The wheat heads lean left, the wormwood leaves spread in a tighter fan. The brushwork of Hilma af Klint stays soft in the edges.
The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The matte surface keeps the pale pencil lines quiet, so the fine art work reads as a calm study rather than a bright object.
Above a desk near a window, the two plants sit at eye level. From the chair you notice the thin stems first, then the small ink dots on the leaves. The pale ground does not reflect much under the lamp.
