White and Black — Fine Art

White and Black by Ellsworth Kelly sets two plain colour fields on a sheet. The white shape and the black shape meet along a clear line.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The work follows the artist practice of hard edges and flat colour. The white finish of the frame gives the picture a steady line on the wall.

That edge keeps the two fields separate from the room. The dark wood finish of the frame sits closer to the black field. That finish makes the line between the fields feel firm.
