About this work
White Brushstroke I 1965 shows a single sweeping mark across a plain ground. The stroke is drawn with a confident hand, a broad band of white against the darker sheet. Roy Lichtenstein made this kind of mark in his pop art period, working from bold graphic ideas.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy.
In a hall with a long runner and a mirror at the far end, the white stroke reads first from the doorway. From the landing you see the broad mark and the plain background, and the eye follows the sweep across the sheet.
