About this work
Wire Mill - 1973 by Nicholas Krushenick shows thick painted bars set on a plain ground. The bars run in short horizontal groups with gaps between them. Some blocks carry a bright tone against a darker field. The painted shapes sit flat and sharp against the background.
The fine art frame finishes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A black frame edge sets the painted blocks off without softening them. The frame gives the picture a clear line on the wall.
This hangs in a study above a desk near the window. From the chair you see the bright blocks first, then the gaps between them. The paint stays flat under the desk lamp.
