XXV

XXV - 1940 shows a small group of painted forms set on a quiet field. The shapes sit near each other with room between them.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. A faint drawn line passes over the top. Soft colour sits beside a harder edge.

Anne Ryan worked with collage and painted panels, and the surface here carries that mix of built-up paper and paint. The picture reads as a calm arrangement of shapes rather than a single figure. You notice the small shifts in tone when you stand closer.
