About this work
Yellow and Green Brushstrokes 1966 shows broad strokes laid down in a bold pop art style. The marks run across the sheet with a rough painted feel. Roy Lichtenstein built this image from colour blocks and hard edges.
A fine art print carries the image on a matte sheet that does not shine under a lamp. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black, and the clean edge sits hard against the painted strokes. The white frame keeps the green tones open.
Hang it on a hallway wall where you pass it twice a day. From the corridor you read the big strokes first. Closer to the door you see the rough texture of each mark. The frame edge cuts the picture off from the plaster cleanly.
