Roman Opalka

Roman Opalka was a Polish painter celebrated for his lifelong work OPALKA 1965/1 - infinity - an endless series of canvases on which he painted successive numbers in white paint on a progressively lightening grey background until the numbers and the surface became indistinguishable. His total work is among the most extraordinary acts of artistic commitment in contemporary art.
