Composition — Fine Art

A hard edge composition by Al Held uses flat colour blocks and sharp dividing lines. Shapes sit side by side with little blending. The divisions stay hard so each section reads on its own. You see clean edges and a steady rhythm across the sheet.

The fine art print sits in a frame with a clean edge. A white finish keeps the picture open and does not pull colour away from the blocks. A wood finish adds a warm line at the border and holds the picture on the wall.

It fits above a low table from a walking path through a quiet room. From near the doorway you read the flat colour sections. From a closer step the lines between them stay crisp. The picture reads as a set of held blocks and a steady edge.
