Dark — Fine Art

The work Dark by Gerhard Richter rests on a deep ground with marks that seem to move across the sheet. The paint layers lie over each other and the darker areas sit beneath the lighter ones. The image gives a sense of shadow and weight without showing a single object.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. You do not need to buy a frame or fit brackets.

It works on a bedroom wall away from a window, where the room stays dim. From the bed you notice the soft greys and the heavier dark band near the lower edge. The surface stays quiet and the picture does not compete with the room.
