Gothic Forest — Fine Art

Tall dark trees rise in a row over a narrow path in Gothic Forest. The trunks press hard against the paper with a quick, pointed stroke. Shadows gather under the branches and the ground stays plain. Eyvind Earle built the picture from repeated black lines and a few pale notes.

The fine art frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. Each finish gives the image a clean outer line so the tree line does not fade into the room. A white frame keeps the shadowed trunks from looking heavy.

Over a kitchen table the eye lands on the tree shapes first, then on the small gaps between the trunks. From the doorway the row of black lines pulls the view toward the back of the room. The picture stays calm without asking for attention.
