Red Devil — Fine Art

Red Devil - 1959 opens on bands of colour that step across the sheet in one direction. The painted stripes hold one hue each, laid down in a steady hand. Gene Davis worked in this way, building a picture from repeated colour sections.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The white frame gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. That edge keeps the colour bands separate from the room around them. A dark wood frame does the same job with a heavier line.

It fits a narrow landing with a single bulb overhead. From the bottom of the stairs you see the bands in shade, and the white frame pulls them forward.
