About this work
A painted field of dark rectangular cells sits against a black ground in The Time Machine - 2002. The cells read as stacked blocks with hard edges.
You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. From the hall you see the dark shapes before the small gaps between them. The artist uses a cell based method that shows up in the hard edges. The print comes ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw.
No separate frame is needed. It works on a bedroom wall where the dark cells stay steady in low evening light. You notice the gap between two cells from the bedside.
