Two Trees 1875 shows two tree forms set against a plain field. The lines look drawn with charcoal and pastel tones, in the manner of Odilon Redon. The branches reach upward from a low base. The work stays quiet and spare.

The fine art print uses matte paper so the chalky tones stay flat under room light. A light frame on a dark wall lets the pale tree shapes stand out without glare. A dark frame on a pale wall does the same thing in reverse.

It fits above a bed in a bedroom. You see the two trunks from the doorway, then the small smudges when you stand near the foot of the bed.
