White — Fine Art

White by Sam Francis keeps the sheet open and clear. Broad colour washes spread across the sheet in loose bands. The paint moves in quick gestures and leaves thin edges where the colour stops. Open areas sit between the marks, so the ground stays visible.

This fine art print hangs on a plain wall at shoulder height, where the light catches the thin paint edges. A light finish on the frame suits a darker wall, and a dark finish suits a pale one. The matte surface keeps the greys flat and avoids shine under a lamp.

In a study, you see the broad washes first from the desk, then the small gaps between them when you stand near the door. The open layout stays calm on a quiet corner wall.
