Winter Pine — Fine Art

A single pine tree stands on snow in Winter Pine by Eyvind Earle. Hard black outlines hold the trunk and branches. The sky is pale blue and the snow is a flat white. Cool greens sit in the needles.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. Thin white lines show wind over the ground. The artist worked with flat colour and clear edges. This style comes from his mid century illustration practice. The paper has a matte finish so the white snow does not shine under a lamp.

A light frame on a dark wall will keep the pale sky bright. Hang it on a wall where morning light comes in low. From across the room the tree shape is clear. Step closer and the branch lines come into focus. The pine stands alone against the quiet sky.
