Hilma af Klint
Hilma af Klint was a Swedish artist who created some of the first abstract paintings in Western art history, producing her monumental Paintings for the Temple series years before Kandinsky or Mondrian. Long kept secret, her spiritually inspired geometric abstractions are now recognised as pioneering works of 20th-century art.
